San Francisco, CA – Old Friends and Good Eats

Animal Style

October came out of nowhere being a month full of many work and school commitments with birthday/anniversary dates marked in this month.  This month is the start where Si and I will both be in school. This overlap will be for year, and the past few days we got a pretty good taste of how it’s going to be for the coming year. For instance, only seeing each other for 10 minutes as I just arrived home from my flight back and him leaving for his residence weekend.

Last week, I had to take a very short trip out stateside again for work. This time, it was San Francisco, California.  I thought I would be experiencing a little bit of Fall but it turned out that SF was going through some warm weather.

Regardless of the packed schedule, there were still pockets of time where I got to meet up with some close friends I haven’t seen in several years and also friends I just saw two months ago. These are friends that I can gab with as if no time has passed between us at all.

I also got to hit up some good eats.  The meal I could only think of, that I had to get while I was there, also turned out to be the very last meal I ate at the UA red carpet lounge because of my delayed flight. In-N-Out, oh have I missed thee with your cheeseburger animal style with no tomato!

Morning meals were either McD’s or Starbucks. Lunches were walking distance from the Moscone Center. I grew up on Café Bistro Nordstrom in Washington. As a child it was my favorite lunch place to go to when I went shopping with my Mom or Aunt. French Onion Soup, French Dip, Club Sandwiches were always in rotation. They didn’t call me a Nordstrom baby for nothing, as relatives showered me with Nordstrom purchases.  Thus, my loyalty to this department store has remained strong to this day. This time since it was a lunch meeting, I chose the very tasty and fresh Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad. For dinners, I totally lucked out with my colleague being from the area and my friends taking me around.
